The Center for Excellence in Long Term Care is a partnership between HHSC and The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. The Center offers a web-based platform for the delivery of best practices, with a focus on geriatrics and disabilities.

Phase IV of the Center for Excellence in Aging Services and Long-Term Care now available

This phase of the project focuses on caring for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Texas OASIS HCBS Dementia Training Course Now Online!

Between December 2017 and May 2018, Dr. Susan Wehry and quality monitoring program (QMP) staff presented the Texas OASIS HCBS Dementia Training for home and community based providers in nine regional locations across the state. Attendees included but wasn’t limited to providers from ALFs, DAHS, group homes, adult foster care as well as family caregivers.


Registration Now Open for the Advanced CNA Academy

Register now for this free, two-day training. It will provide comprehensive training for nursing facility certified nurse aides, helping them to understand their role in the nursing facility and learn more about how to care for the geriatric population.
