THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD ONLY ONLINE. ATTENDEES HAVE THE OPTION OF:
- 8-HR REGULATIONS: Attending the 8-hour Regulations Class only via Webinar (Zoom)
- 12-HR CONTINUING EDUCATION: COMPLETING 12 HOURS ON TORCH UNIVERSITY (SELF-PACED CBT)
- 24-HR MANAGER'S COURSE: Attending the 8-hour Class via Zoom, plus completing an additional 16 hours on TORCH University, to earn their 24-hour Assisted Living Manager Training Certificate, as required by the State of Texas Licensing Standards.

Choose this option to attend the Zoom class for 8 hours of Regulations training, plus an additional 16 hours of self-paced online courses, to be completed within a 30-day time period through TORCH University. |

Assisted Living Manager Courses: Session Contents
Regulations Session
— 8-hour training on the Texas licensing standards. This course includes updates and proposed changes to the licensing standards. Legislative changes are also covered.
Continuing Education Session
— 12-hour continuing education training on management of assisted living facilities. This course covers the State’s required content for management training. The 8-hour Regulations course fills the first day, and additional four hours of training occurs on the second day. These topics may include: resident characteristics (including dementia), resident assessment and skills working with residents; basic principles of management; food and nutrition services; federal laws, with an emphasis on the Americans with Disabilities Act’s accessibility requirements; community resources; ethics, and financial management.
Continuing Education Session
— 24-hour administrator's training on management of assisted living facilities. This course covers the State’s required content for management training. This course includes the 8-hour session above (Option 1), plus an additional 16 hours of self-paced training on TORCH University. Self-paced training topics may include: financial topics (budgeting, long-term-care insurance), fair housing, policies and procedures, fall prevention, dementia, elder law, food and nutrition, marketing, compassion fatigue and caregiver health topics, RN Delegation, HHSC LTC topics, Life Safety Code, and licensing information.

Login between 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM (Central Time)
Classes: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Central Time)
Additional hours to be completed on TORCH University.
Refunds and Cancellations
TORCH does not refund course payments or fees of any kind. If the event is cancelled, or if the registrant must cancel, any registration fees paid are credited to the registrant's account, minus any applicable cancellation fees, and may be applied to another scheduled seminar, conference, storefront purchase, or other billable item. Payment is due with the registration. (Attendees must be present for the entire session to receive their certificate.)
Student Standards
TORCH reserves the right to refuse to issue a certificate when an attendee does not satisfactorily complete the course. This may include such reasons as failure to attend the entire session; or failure to comprehend the course content, based upon a written test, when a test is given.
